My Latest Rocking Chair
I've just finished this rocking chair for my dad as a xmas present. It is made from maple with some red gum and red cedar for a contrasting interest. It is done in the Maloof fininsh and a traditional wax on top. Hope you like it. Enjoy

Great work. He is going to really like this present.

I'm home on the weekend artme, send a pm on Friday if you want to make a time.
Yes it is pleaseing to make a rocker and this is my forth rocker now and every time I make one I try to do something different in the design. I get some of my ideas from the American makers such as Scott Morrison and Hal Taylor. Sometimes I just experiment and play around until it looks right without compromising the integraty of the chair. You really must make one if you haven't. Go to my photo album to see more of my rockers and other work.
