That is brilliant. If I was ever to build a secretary, I would include those mechanisms. Love it.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

That is just plain crazy good. A guy could get a hard push in the mouth by standing too close!
How do you plan for such ingenuity and mechanical mechanisms?
There's a Museum of Science and Technology in Turin, Italy. They have (had?) a traveling exhibit of more than
a dozen da Vinci machines. Each is about a cubic meter in size, if not larger. I saw the exhibit in maybe 1995.
Just wood & ropes, very few metal parts. Ever since then, I've been hoping to find plans for table top versions,
about 30cm cubes would be ideal. After a few years, I gave up looking.
Has anything changed?

Notice how quickly he stepped aside every time he turned a key?
Maybe this has already happenedEvery day is better than yesterday

Yeah, I noticed that. I thought I caught a slo-mo sequence of a writing tablet(?) unfolding.
Then the guy did it again in real time. WHAMMO!
Explain that to a dentist.
What an obituary = "Beaten to death by his own furniture."

If you did not know how it worked you could sure get an injury.
Now where did I put the money and I am sure the wine is in here somewhere.
Oh the gun is in that compartment! Now which one has the pen.
A work of Art!
