    Default Round wood in thicknesser

Don't see why not if you can control the first pass accurately. You will get a lot of shavings (read waste timber) before you get a result.

It's a hard way to get boards. You'd have to make a cradle up to support you first cut.
Bear in mind that the thicknesser will mirror the underside of the plank so if it ain't flat and true you'll never never never get any good flat joinery/cabinetry boards.

If you can flatten on side true either with a jointer or a hand plane then you're in business. But you will also have to shoot a 90 degree face as well to get the DAR finish.

Better off if you can get access to a band saw do some re-sawing then flatten (jointer/hand plane) then thickness to size.

Sorry to throw a bucket of water on your idea.

This all comes from experience, the great teacher, 'cos I tried it many moons ago and that's what I learnt

    Cheers

A bit like cleaning the deck on the Anzac with a tooth brush.
A cradle would be the best option and put it through a table saw or bandsaw for a much quicker result.

I've cleaned the deck on the Anzac, not with a toothbrush though...
