As a point of interest you can also buy a second hand one (same model) at Hare And Forbes in Brisbane for $695.........Must be extra for the worn slides, grease all over the table, and dents....

I wonder if I can give this thread another go . . .
After much deliberation, and considering I will be building a veranda in a few weeks I came down to two choices for the "good" nail gun, besides a Chinese bradder from either Supercheap or Mitre10
Both are Paslode, one is Paslode gas gun, that today offers a choice of changing the tip (for an extra $70) to use special 'deck-fast' galvanised nails special for decking, beside the normal framing choice from 50 to 90mm $890 from Glenford tools in Liverpool.
The other (I think I favour) is a Duo-Fast KD665A coil gun not sure if made or distributed by Paslode. $870 also Glenford Liverpool.
The above gun has a huge variety of nails available, two pages from the catalogue, every size with the choice of different heads, electrogalvanaised, hot gal, stainless steel, screw, ring, hardened, doomed head you name it. The Bostich coil gun choice of nails comes down to a quarter of that.
The only thing that makes me scratch my head a little is the size of the nail boxes I will have to buy each time I want a different size nail. I am used to have a stock of almost any size nail and screw imaginable in my shed, but this ! . . . . boxes are from 1800 if stainless steel, but then go to 7200, 9000, 12600,14400 . . .wow what am I going to do with so many nails?
How can one have a variety of nails without spending $2000 just for that, and three shelves full of boxes the size of broccoli boxes? I wonder if someone actually sells half a box or less?

Marc,
Bunnys at Mitchnburry sells nails for Paslode gas gun by cards- app $1.40 per card. Don't know about Liverpool Bunny, if they have a hire shop, then they may.
Duo fast and Paslode do have some connections, can't remember what though.
Hope this is of some help.
Rgards,
Theva

An update on where I'm sitting at the moment (Just incase anyone forgot why I started the thread).
I've got:
Makita SCMS LS1212
Dewalt 12vXRP Cordless
Metabo 850W Impact drill/driver
Makita Jigsaw 4340CT
Hitachi Circular Saw 7 1/4 C7SB2 1710W
Metabo Angle grinder 125mm 1010W 10-125quick
Metabo Random Orbital SXE425XL
Johnson 1200mm level
Tradetools Compressor RP13
and if dad doesn't want it back a Makita 82mm Planer Model 1100
Can't seem to motivate myself for the combo square/set, or the clamps. So many clamps and then more clamps........
Anything apart from the nailguns and router that anyone would like to add?

If you are going to do a lot of renovating get yourself a recipricating saw. I have had the Bosch PFZ550E for about 10 years now and it still works great for cutting through hardwood studs in very tight corners.

Planer\Thicknesser and a table saw.
Then you can go down to the local junk yard and get lots of lovely secondhand timber and rip and plane it to any size you want. It will save you so much compared to the price of new unseasoned timber you will be able to buy lots of tools with the savings.
