    Default I made myself a router lifter

    I have been wrestling with this design for a while but it is FINALLY working.
    It is al made in timber save the threaded rod, washers and nuts.

    We welded a nut to the end of the threaded rod, this fits inside a socket that again fits inside the top of the router lifter.
    This makes it flush with the table so the fence can be moved without obstruction.
    When I want to lift or lower the router, I fit a socket extension through the hole and use a ratchet wrenceh. This way I can make minute adjustments to the height of the router bit.
    For clarity I did not fit the blocks that keep the router away from the lifter to allow for airflow to the router. The lifting part goes up and down in a large sliding dovetail so it stays where it is supposed to stay. A large washer on top of the slider and the cut-out in the base makes sure the threaded rod does not go off balance.

    That sliding dovetail is an excellent idea.

    Hi Wolffie

    Very nice design and workmanship mate.

    I would be a little bit worried about the motor cooling port. Looks like the "lifting plate" blocks it.

    When I made my router lift, I made it from 25mm round stick that presses at the center (collet line) and doesn't blocks the airflow.

    I think that you can do the something by adding some round stick or even a ball to the "lifting plate" so, will not be so close (or on) to the cooling ports (even an M6 bolt will work - I did it on the previous router table)

    Regards

    I also back the lifter off the router once I have set the height. That is if I am going to use it for any length of time.

    Oooops, sorry mate.....I missed that part

    Yeap, as I've seen it on one exam;
    "Read all the exam to the end"...but usually everybody starts to X the correct answers...

    But the last "question" says..."Do not answer to any of the questions above"...

    Nice one Wolffie. Like the sliding dovetail.
