    Cheers Paul, I once saw a pic of SM doing a much more radical, unsupported, free hand cut on the bandsaw when he was 80. I hope to be doing the same.

    What a master of the bandsaw!!!

    Is that a conventional blade he is using?

    Its a sharp blade that's for sure! Note his supporting hand on the table in most cuts and all the deep ones.
    We visited Sam in xmas 83 and he was upset we didn't come earlier and stay for lunch.
    He had a nephew down the south coast of NSW from memory.[
    Neat guy and most hospitable as were all the Americans I visited on that trip.
    Krenov put me up even though I was staying with GKB in SFA.
    There was a collection of chairs by Sam and his contempories at the Museum in Boston all able to be closely inspected and sat on.
    Very interesting what 20 years of wood movement will do to joints and cross grain construction.
