saying hi
Recently found this place and reckon I ought to say hi. Didn't see a newbies area to post this so I'm putting it here. If this ain't the spot for it, sorry.
Anyway, I'm in Kansas in the US. Haven't done as much wood work as I'd like due to a lack of work area. That will soon change. I have done some metal work (blacksmithing).
I look forward to learning from and sharing with y'all.

Sooo.... Everything (still) up to date in Kansas City? Bit quiet in OZ while the cricket in Brisbane gets sorted out (and they hope it doesn't rain). Also, they'll be waiting for the sun to come up. Welcome....

I'm just a bit outside of Kansas City. Wichita (about 3 hours) and unfortunatly there is a definate poverty of decent stores for tools or lumber around here.
I'll get photos when I get something done worth using film on.
Once I get things set up better I can start the wood work part of my website (free geocites one). With just a little luck that can start in 2 or 3 weeks.
I start the name as it was the first thing I could think of free on Yahoo when I started an e-mail there and try to keep it for all my stuff to make it easier on my memory. One of the reasons I quit sawmill creek is they objected to "r payne" (my other common moniker) as I used an inital not a full name.

G'day Ron and welcome,
Have a mate who goes by the same surname - his son went into the military - no problems until he reached the rank of Major - fortunately he has a good sense of humour.

You think you don't have a decent wood store close by! If I want to go to the Borg, I need a passport and an aircraft or ship
If you can't tell by now, most of the denizens of this board are in Australia, but there are a few thick skinned 'Norte Americanos' that like to hang out here and shoot the breeze.
Now if I could just find a supplier of Rigid & the full Porter Cable & Delta lines in 220/240 volts.
