scratches on furniture
found this in a book recently..........bob
Rubbing a walnut over scratches in your furniture will disguise dings
and scrapes.

Is the photo one you tried? It's pretty impressive. Might have to get some walnuts on the way home.
The other day I described to my daughter how to find something in the garage by saying "It's right near my big saw". A few minutes later she came back to ask: "Do you mean the black one, the green one, or the blue one?".

Works best with fresh/green walnuts.

Just gave it a go and works alright! Seems to work better on the flats than corners though.

Then you can eat it and it will taste like walnuts.

It's not due to any magic properties of the walnut, just walnut oil; virtually any oil would do the same thing.
Furniture revivers contain vegetable oil or varnish which simply clarifies the surface, thereby disguising small scratches. The scratches don't disappear, the oil merely reflects the wood/colour deeper within..
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
Regards, Woodwould.
