    Default Searching

How do you search on this BB. I am trying to find info on sliding mitre tables but if I type in "sliding mitre tables" I get many responses for each of the words individually. I have tried putting "AND" in between the words but with the same results.

    Help please!!

    Thanks, Jack.

    Midge,

How could you not believe me?

No inverted comma's, I have this problem with many search engines, is there a generic way to link words in a search.

Do the results automatically order in to those that include all three words, followed by two word results and finally down to matches for just one word?

My problem is I have a small sliding mitre table to the left of my blade and think it has many more applications than simply cutting small pieces. I am looking for tips on how to get the most from said table.

    Thanks, Jack.

The easiest way is to stick them in inverted commas!!

I don't think you'll find too much, though..... the blokes with sliding tables just keep saying they are terrific, and the ones without (like me!) keep building the jigs...

Time for a whole new thread I think!

    Cheers,

When I do it, I only get 10 hits. Maybe try it again.

You can use google to search only this site.

Type this into the search field on the google page.

    Jack,

Is this what you are looking for?
    http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com...ad.php?t=12493

The inverted commas ensure that the exact phrase is searched for, but, as far as I can work out, the Boolean operators AND, OR and NOT do not work with the BB's search engine.

By the way, I hope you have got that little table finished by now; you ran out of excuses some time ago

Thanks for all the tips guys, will be very handy and may stop me being chastised for not running a search first.

    Rocker,

I used your advice and typed "excuses" in to the search engine, now I have heaps for not finishing that table!!

    Here are a few,
    1. Moved to Townsville,
    2. New house, NO SHED, not even a garage, the tools that are not packed away on the shelf are at a mates place, no woodwork for about 6 months, although I have been going nuts buying planes on ebay and am waiting for this new LVLA.
    3. That fiance of mine is still very distracting (although after reading Stinky's post on "marraige V table saw" that will soon change!!).

If thats not enough excuses I will really do a search and post the results.

BTW, even though I have a sliding mitre table, I think Rockers mitre sled would be very useful and will probably make one myself, although I said this about his morticing jig once I saw it in action but haven't even purchased the plans yet.

    Jack,

You don't need to purchase the plans for my morticing jig - they come free, gratis, and for nothing, although I do appreciate an acknowledgement; it does somewhat **** me off when people can't be bothered to thank for my spending 5 minutes uploading the file for them. Had a recent instance with a American lawyer, who you might think would know better - but then again, maybe not.

I suppose not having a workshop, and having an energetic fiancee are plausible excuses. Hopefully she will start nagging you to finish it after the wedding

I hereby cordially refer you to DanP's most truthfull signiture:

"99.9% of lawers give the rest a bad name." although in america i think conservative estimates are higher than the 99.9%.
