Default how to make a set of French doors?

I have a 10m2 garden shed finished in shiplap and I really want to put a set of French doors on it. the opening is 2080mm x 1600mm wide, it will open outwards.

I have a big mortiser to make the mortise and spindle moulder to make the tenon (my spindle moulder is not setup to do profile cut, it doesnt have a power feed, at the moment it can only do tenon), How do I make the muntin? has anyone from this site made their own French doors?
I have read somewhere on the web that it may take a day for a skilled carpenter to hung the door properly, sounds like I should hire someone to do it properly?

    Thank you

If you have a router, use that, rebate bit for the glazing, profile bit for the beading.

Muntin? Do you mean glazing bar?
I've done a few french doors, no great problem, as said, use a router for glazing and profile.
Someone's pulling your leg about hanging them!

Muntin is the Yank term for glazing bar.
An hour per door for hanging.

Hi Albert, I did a WIP on my French door build a couple of years ago. There might be something in there to give you an idea. It would be a lot easier to do a set without diminished stiles.

    WIP Diminished stile French Doors

when I made a set I found the biggest challenge was sourcing a router bit with a suitable profile.
The only one I could find was this one from Lee Valley -- Reversible French Door & Window Sash Bit - Lee Valley Tools

I'm interested in knowing where you got your profile bit from.

Wish I'd seen that back then! Used a roman ogee bit from Carbatec, close enough, but not quite what I was after. also a standard rebate bit on the other side. That one looks much better.

That was my problem, finding a bit that cut a vertical rather than horizontal profile.

    not quite
in English usage, a muntin is the vertical member connecting the top and bottom rails with the lock rail in a four (or six) panel door. Typically, a muntin has the same dimensions as the styles.

    Not quite
The vertical member in a panel door is a mullion. There are no muntins unless the door is glazed with bars. These bars are called glazing bars here, but in some overseas areas they are called muntins.
A muntin is never the same size as the stile. It is always smaller in profile.

After so much reading and Googling, I dont think I will be surprised to find an artisan who is specialised in making French door and French door only....

    There is so much involved

Door and window manufacture always sounds complicated on paper. It's not that bad if you know what you are doing. I believe Russell Dawson has returned to NZ, he would be able to knock up a set for you.

This is the definition I've always worked with. It becomes confusing because the Yanks call glazing bars muntins.
