    Ross,

I made an Noah's Ark that is very similar, it is in th projects section of my site. Are you planning to enclose the front with glass or leave it open? If the latter, it is really easy. Just take some scrap and glue them up into a connected square and rectangle boxes. You can use simple joinery like dowels or biscuits,or even butt joints depending on how large and how heavy of items you will load it up with. You can also place a 1/8" or 1/4" back in a rabbet and that will make a rally strong box and simplifies the joinery.

Love to see it when you are done.

    Good luck.
    Blessings,

Is this the kind of thing that SWMBO wants? I made a bunch of these thimble shadow boxes (in the shape of a thimble) earlier this year. They are either free standing or hang on the wall -- about 300mm high by 300mm wide by about 30mm deep.

P.S. Not an easy task for a starting project.

Get down to your nearest antique joint and see if they have any old printers trays, you know, they used to use them to hold all their print blocks.
