And then it was done... and so with much grunting groaning swearing cussing and finally a few beers we had the tools in and the old humpyhoochy who had served so well during the furious winter winds suffered a loss of 3/4 of its top  and now sits there forlorn and lonely with only a few planks and the logs still remaining under the small canopy Anyone have a clue where Id get another of these tops?

    1) Tools in
    2) Mess gathering outside!!
    3) Bandysaw... gawd I love this beast!
    4) The wreckage of the humpyhoochy with the seatainer which she still wont empty of the gunk and goop so I can clean it up for a finishing shed flamin woman!!

And so I settled into the shed... built a few 4mtr benches swiped the lovely ones sideboard for the lathe and set to sticking a string of lights up

    1) Main workbench with lathe next to it.. the lights make a heck of a difference!
    2) the other end with the old Tuart workbench thats become the grinders and benchpress home
    3) the overhead wood storage area
    4) the other side
    5) whatch your noggin!!

And progression is being made on the dining table for daughters house warming when they finish building that is!

And a few random shots... hang on one more afta this and Im done

    1) the other bench where I put the pens together... was given the wee clamping thingy by a bloke who wandered by and was impressed with the shed!... and the contents!! couldnt get rid of the old buggar!! this one and the other one up there are 4mtrs long x 26in wide x 29in high + 2in top... so Im a shortass!!! oooh and you can now see why I think some of yous blokes are rather annul about your workbenches!!! me middle name bein "rough as guts"!!

    2) The round table Im building for the daughter Jarrah top Jarrah legs and Durian heart shaped feature under... this will also have a lazy susan of Sheoak

    3) The clamp rack above the lathe which needs some serious extending now... ahem this was initially where my old workbench was located till I worked out that Id be in serious danger with the lathe down the other end if I wanted to do any face turning so I swapped them over the lathe headstock now swings out and the shed door gives me enough safe area to work

The next two show the wreckage of the humpyhoochy after the series of storms we had last year and earlier this year... man that wind fair howled through there!!

    A few more random shots?

    1) A bit of the wood from the humpyhoochy thats steadily finding its way into the shed Jarrah Maranti Kapur and Durian... next to cut it to 3 mtr lengths to slideu up top

    2) a speccy shot from the bench to the door looking over the router table jointer thicknesser and timber

    3) the gap between the boards up top (these are 3mtr lengths of 6x1 Jarrah) this allows me to use a step stool and get the timber from both sides

    4) A look down the other end you can see the height above the drill press isnt a heck of a lot but enough so I can get the timbers down that end is the length end where 3mtr lengths will slide up and remain till I need them... I do need to slip a couple more lengths up that end may make it a bit tight to get up but then I can always slide the lengths from the router end eh?

    5) Straight in at the main workbench

Okay changes to come shortly include but arent restricted to...
A 18in wide bench the lenght of the wall (6mtrs) behind the jointer for the sliding compound saw
A new router table on wheels that will live between the old Tuart bench and the main work bench just beside the spindle sander
A couple of bench top cabinets
A couple of storage bins on the walls
And Im actually thinking of a couple of those office partitions you know those carpet covered ones? and putting them on hinges to hang under the timber storage and be able to swing away when not in use and down when Im boatbuilding
Oh and power would be bloody handy... running an extention lead out there puts a bit of a drain on relations around here especially when I disconnect the hot water heater to do so!! sudden cold showers do not happy people make!

There are other things Im trying to incorporate like an area for the ply storage and hopefully moving the thicknesser so I can get a bit more room around the table saw so I can reinstall the sliding table which has thankfully removed itself to the seatainer... interestingly enough Im either going to have to shell for the Incra fence book so I can use it to its best or I will go over to son in laws and nick back the besimeyer one that came with the saw and put the Incra to some other use maybe the router table Im gonna build?... could be a thought to play with this bloody Incra fence takes up shyteloads of room!!

Another is the small 3x3mtr shed Im putting out the main door (near the lathe) for the dusty compressor chainsaw and the garden gear will free up shyteloads of room in there mind you putting the thicknesser on wheels may do the same too... but I use that beast a heck of a lot so movin her back and forth would end up given me the whillies!... but with the dusty and other stuff outta there I could move the bandsaw over that way toward the benches a few feet with the router table gone I could move the jointer back toward the benches a fair bit then with the timber gone upstairs the thicknesser could be moved over toward where the jointer presently is leave the table saw where it is and I think Id just about have enough room to reinstall the sliding table!!

Mind you A BIT MORE BLOODY ROOM WOULDNT GO ASTRAY!! Yeah Im spoilt rotten as it is!

    Thank you for looking!!

Now that you've finished the shed, do you want me to send you some more tek screws so you can screw them into something just for fun?

    Great setup. Good work boys.

Damn!! You noticed the freewheelin style with the tekky screws eh? buggar ... but I must admit I do like the things... mind here Im not about to whack all them lengths up there till Ive scored some seriass bolts and bolted that timber storage area up good and proper.. all thats up there at present is the 2 lengths of Oregon I scored from ScottyK awhile back and some odds and sods... but mate send away can always find a use for tekky screws! And I will be putting up another shed in a few months... mmm and probably some sheets of corrigated iron over the humpyhoochy a couple of end doors so yep send away the more the merrier!!

Thanks mate... took meself, eldest son, son in law, son in laws father and youngest son 2 long days to sort that bloody thing... but I think weve got the hang of it now so I reckon were up to the challenge of another bigger one am putting the feelers out on prices and such for one about 12mtrs x 20mtrs to put up about 6 ft outside the present side door a wee arch thingy between the two and whalla MASSIVE SHED!... couple of months away I reckon... Im actually considering having it half open with two closed sections at the present shed end timber storage at one end and boat building area the other... but then theres the additional house she wants built on the side of the present house after weve lifted it 2ft in the air!... aahhh the challenges of life eh!

    Its all good mate!

Looks a lot like the jaws from my old B&D Workmate from 1973.

That's one hellava awesome shed and goodies, Dingo. SWMBO says it's wrong to envy other boys toys.

I guess you've been making sawdust for a few years. All that stuff just to make pens?

Nah mate theres the veneering the table several frames a couple of canoes a wall unit and a tv cabinet underweigh... at present the only work in progress in there is the table the theres are in the seatainer cause the weather keeps turning to shyte... Ive set a small area up between the sliding compound saw and the 6x9 sander just for pen making as the wee small bench fits beautifully and serves the purpose well... on the main work bench Ive isolated a small area where I have all my gear for the arty pharty veneering stuff

I dont ask for envy mate nor I hope do I get it... Ive worked hard to aquire the money to buy the tools I have and like others enjoy them... If another blokes shed causes anything like envy it should be shedhands now he has a seriass shed! ... this is just my humble 6x9mtr one Actually my only tools of the trade so to speak for many years was a circular saw a small electric plane several hand planes and a rule then I decided I needed a table saw and a thicknesser so I bought them at a wood show in 2003 and well that gave me the taste so to speak so when we sold the house in Mandurah the tools and what I figured I would need to set up what I hoped would be a small business for my retirement was set asside as was the money for her highness to get everything she thought she would need toget into quilting (a 7000 sewing machine for starters!! ) and then when we bought and moved we bought the things we needed... Ive been playing with woodbutchering for many years yes but as for the tools they many are a recent edition (last year) ala only just learning to use the lathe and scroll saw

This was just to let those who were following our sagas where I was upto not intended as a brag or anything like it as you can see the humpyhoochy is stuffed the damned seatainer is about 100mtres away from the shed which is to far, the doors on the shed give me the shytes Ive still got to cut the wall above the lathe to stick in a window and I need power! so still a long way to go before it could be a cause of the green eyed monster
    Cheers

very nice shane. thanks for sharing.
your benches look like mine rough & ready so you can beat the ##### outta them and not care about dents & scratches. I have finally got permission from swmbo to get a bigger shed. gonna end up long and skinny though lol. due to backyrad being so small final shed size will be 12m x 3m.
you never stop learning, till the day they shovel dirt on your face

No mate, I wasn't knocking your work. When I finished my shed I hated the sight of tek screw for a few months. They are good things, but don't you use a lot of them when you build a shed?

Dingo, you are a lucky bastard you know that don’t you? What makes you think you deserve such a big shed?

Those orange and red stuff are starting to hurt my eyes.
