Sherwood Spare Parts?
I've got a Sherwood FM230 Dust Collector and the Start / Stop Switch has just "spat the dummy" (the motor works OK if you hold the start button down)
Apart from Timbecon does any one know where I can source spare parts? (I'm in Adelaide and I bought the dust collector s/hand)
Cheers

Remove the switch strip it down and clean out the dust... its a common problem with most dustys that have a no-volt switch(hence the holding it down).

Those switches don't die, they just get clogged up. Take it a fare apart as you can and dare, then blow the heck out of it with compressed air. Also tuner cleaner (remember when TVs and such had knobs) spray in each orifice of the switch. If it works when you hold it down then the contacts aren't burn up just crapped up so the magnet won't hold.

If its really busted, not just dirty, spare switches can be had from Dick Smith Warehouse, Jaycar, Rod Irving, or most 'hobby' oriented electrical supplier & some better quality Auto parts shops. Just take the old switch along & look for something about the same size, rated for 240 volts (220>250 is what you'll find & is OK) and a reasonable amperage.

Sherwood Parts

I tried everything but the bugger still wouldn't work
When I was over in WA recently and bought a new switch from Timbercon and it solved the problem
Thanks for your comment anyway

Thank you Harry72,
Great advice. I blasted the switch with air and it worked. Saved more than $100 for a repairer to do the same
