    Default Shoji screens anybody?

My eldest son is a fan of all things Japanese. He wants me to build him a shoji screen. Now, I know what they are, but does anyone have any experience or tips when making 'em? They seem to be an art form in Japan.

    Thanks,

    B

I think there's been a discussion on these in the past. Try a search of the archives.

This book is very helpful in choosing materials design and construction methods:
"Shoji- How to design, Build and Install Japaneses Screens"
    Author: Jay van Arsdale
    Publisher:Kodansha International.

    Hope this helps
If you cant find this book in Oz let me know.

I could find very little on Shoji screens, the following links are about all I came across.

Woodsmith Magazine Issue 57, has "Folding Screens" based on the tradtional Japanese Shoji screens.
