Shop Smith Mk 5 Belt Sander tensioning problems
Hope some one has a clue on this. Bought the Shop Smith and the 6" Belt Sander attachment about 30 (STREWTH!!) years ago. I cannot fathom how to tension the belt: Chinglish instructions talk about re-tensioning the "idler drum" by turning "tension knob lever" counterclockwise 4 turns, etc.... this procedure is as useless as!! Has anyone any hints on this, or any knowledge of a website with helpful hints written in plain english??

G'day.
I have a Shopsmith Mk 5 but it don't have that option.
Have you tried the web site?

Thanks Cliff...that was great: there was a complete video on how to service the rollers! I think I may have a case of a spring that's lost its tension...could be fatal unless I get a new roller assembly!!
