    Default a simple ripping jig

Thought this might be of interest. There's not much camphor laurel left for the box comp so I'm trying to stretch every scrap as far as I can. Here's a little "jig" I made to saw some 1mm laminates from a piece of 8mm scrap. It's just a simple 1mm deep trench routered out of a scrap of melamine that the work sits in. The ripping is done with the ryoba saw sitting flat on the melamine surface and a piece of scrap timber pressing on the work to keep it flat in the bottom of the trench. With the thin kerf of the saw, I managed to get four 1mm laminates out of the scrap and after a quick sand it is ready for glueing.

    Cheers
    Michael

it's an Ikeda Ryoba style. Can't see why it won't work on 40mm stock or even wider.

Damn now we have to wait another 4 weeks. See that's why we should extend the deadline.

The more complicated my life gets the more I appreciate the simple things.
Great to see such a useful but simple jig.

I am curious to what you're making though.
