Default sit down and have a coffee.

These are a little fun project I am doing with my stepson. He and his boss are about to open a new coffee shop/bar in Surry Hills and I will be making some of the bits and pieces for it. The stools/seats have button shaped tops which I will do on the lathe. The first one was a piece of Queensland Maple. The bottoms are just 17mm CD ply, cheap and efective. I missed one photo where one is slotted from the top down and the other from the bottom up. Just push the two together with a drisel of glue, dowl down the top and done. I stained the ply up with some Baltic varnish/stain and a little Black Japan, they have to look a little grungy to be cool. I threaded a bit of leather thong through the holes to ad to the effect, with a loose tag or two as well. My nephew took the photo of me with my father (Lump Hama) also have a few other projects for these guys so will have some unusual things to come

That's very good of you to pass your stools on to your step son.
    .
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

I'd best leave the subject of your stools alone but really like the furniture you made to sit on

Yeh but now the hard work is done you could hand over to TH or DBH and they can use No1 as a pattern use the trimmer and have 20 feet done in couple hours. All while you turn the seats or once again use the trimmer. While you get on with the table

I like you thought process Ray but the chances of getting others involved with my projects is very slim. Getting someone to make a cup of tea is tricky around here
Yes a GTG could be good, I have a heap of work to do at Anandale coffee shop also, a bench, revolving book/fire place (like you saw in the movies when you were a kid) and a whole wall bookshelf with a concealed door where you have to pull a book with a suitable title to gain access to the loo I have a lot of fun stuff comming up. If I get into Sculptures by the Sea next week all hell is going to break loose

Yes Ray, it does have a step but I'm sure I could knock up a quick trap door or draw bridge to get you in
