    Hi Dengue,
    Your on the right track sharp blades and start with light cuts to get the feel of it I am sure you will be pleased with the result and no dust to me is the biggest benefit of doing the job this way.

    Sharpened the blades razor sharp for both the flat and rounded spokeshaves ( see the thread here: Sharpen Stanley spokeshave 151 blade)

    Had a go on the elongated S curves using a spokeshave for the first time ever. Did not need the rounded spokeshave as the flat tool did the job nicely. As Rod pointed out above, it really needs a light touch to flatten the bumps. Turned out pretty well for a first go, happy with the result. Looking forward to an even better result tomorrow when I tackle the other identical workpiece

    Hi I’m guessing you don’t have the Wadkin at home but at work. They sure do draw heaps of power on start up and take a long time to run down. They are so so accurate it’s not funny.
