Smoothing out Polyurethane
I put Polyurethane over my birch plywood, and it's very rough. I'd sand it smooth, but there's not much for fine grit sandpaper around me.
Are there any alternatives I can use, to smooth this out? Mineral spirits, perhaps?

If you can't get SAND PAPER, can you get WET&DRY that is used on auto body paint work, it will work as well for what you need ,
You probably need to sand down the polyurethane and re-coat, wipe the job down between coats after sanding with tack cloth / or clean cotton cloth and alcohol/ thinners ( we call it mentholated spirits down here)to remove any dust from sanding.
then re-coat.

We used wet'n'dry final finish with 4000 grit.
It was like a mirror.

I use 1200 grit 'Wet & Dry', then follow with wax. Another mirror.
