    Default Downsizing so selling up

    G'day All
We are downsizing so my days in my large workshop are numbered. Am looking to sell various items and would like an idea of what sort of pricing I should put on things - starting on smaller stuff like these boxes of monel nails - I know they aren't cheap but can't find similar online. These were made in Australia - not imported. Have boxes of various types of nails, screws etc but don't know where to start so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't seen monel fastenners for 20 years, Ben, they used to be ubiquitous, but boats are now mainly made from plastic or aluminium. In furniture making, stainless steel has displaced monel from its small niche. I cannot see why any furniture maker would want to pay a premium price now for monel.

There is still a niche for monel in classic wooden boat construction and maintenance. May I suggest that you advertise on a specialist wooden boat website.

Perhaps post this in the wooden boat forum, more of interest to them.

Haha you're right about the age I think probably they have been in my workshop since the mid eighties. Might try the boat restore forum and see what they think. Thanks for your reply.
