What outfit? If you mean the one that starts with an 'O' i'd say avoid at all costs unless you want to throw money down the drain.

Same sort of pricing as the one in Magill that starts with O. Inflated to say the least. OK if you just need a small board or two i suppose, plus they have a lot of odds and ends you wont get at too many places.
If looking for more 'bulk' options there are fare better in SA for things like Tas blackwood, blackbutt, tas oak, all american species etc, all rough sawn though. For people without a thicknesser/jointer i can see why the above mentioned would be handy.

Mountain River Timbers in Thebarton is run by Luke Skelton, son of Tim a wood turner in SA. No affiliation to the old Ottos that people are alluding to. Not sure if the Skiltons own the business.

When Otto's closed down a couple of years back, Luke, along with Nathan Otto opened up a specialty timber store on Light St, Thebarton as part of Mountain River Timbers. Earlier this year Nathan Otto started up a new Otto Timber in a new location in Magill.

Im not certain if Mountain River is still operating but it looks as though it is still going. Both stores are your only real options for anything exotic in Adelaide.

For USA + aussie species there are far far far better options than MRT and Otto's. Maybe for small turning blanks and 'hobby' pieces of random species they are good but if you're doing a larger project like a dining table or something then no point throwing money away getting timber there IMO.

Would you mind sharing other Adelaide based hardwood suppliers? I know of Ridgewood and Durable Hardwoods but to my knowledge they stock a lot of exotics.
