A free option is to extrude a bead of silicone on waxed paper and cut it into pieces after it has set.
Haven't tried it but I remember reading it somewhere. Sure sounds like it would work to me.

The Space Balls are great! I use them a lot. My local hardwood supplier carrys them. About $25/M or $5.50/C.
