If you have the router bits then you could just use a drill press.

If that is the purpose, why do the have to be spheres.

If you take a straight sided spade bit of the appropriate diameter, drill it same depth. The pilot hole can be drilled easily through, following the centre point.

If you place the bead in and clamps piece of wood over the top with something soft and grippy (rubber) youwill hold and clamp the bead and can use the pilot hole on the other side.

Thanks for the suggestion handyjack. If I can wrangle 10 minutes away from this job we are doing on the router table I'll look into that.

Won't have to do all that if I do it this way cadas. Just have to drop the ball into it's respective hole & the top of the bead will be level with the wood surrounding the hole. Rest a finger on the top of the bead if need be, pierce the hole through the centre from the front or back face of the block of wood. Take the piercing pin out, pick up the block of wood, turn it upside down & the bead will fall out of the hole.

Here's a quick sketch of the detail as to how it will look. Not to scale or accurate piercing pin holes. I'll drill these with a drill press to ensure perpendicular accuracy. There will be a corresponding piercing hole on the other side of the block of wood.
