split fence design
I recently purchased Router Magic by Bill Hylton, I love this book, as a first timer in woodworking, this book has detailed step by step instructions on how to build jigs, router tables and fences, etc. I just have one observation where making the split fence in concerned, found on page 237. The author mentioned the plans and directions to make the split fence is a version sized to the floor standing router table (page 212). I already made the table, and am now making the split fence, but I believe the measurement for the base is somewhat shorter than will accomodate the clamp blocks.... did anyone find this out the hard way like myself? I had to make the base 43" instead of 39" as was instructed in the book to accomodate my router table of 37-1/2".
Just an observation..... not bad talking the author, still love the book.
Thanks.
