Square Drive Screws
Hi Dan,
I previously replied to this thread. I just looked at some of the other responses. There's a lot of stuff there from folk who have little knowledge of this Sachys/Robertson product. Why compromise on buying the correct driver bits in a few lengths and both sizes and a couple of screwdrivers purchased from Sachy's. The head recess of the Robertson is not the same profile as that of those cheapies previously referenced. I'm trying to make as much furniture as I can in the time left to me: follow my example, get the right gear on the bench and get on with it. I get impatient with drivel at time and this is one of them!!
Regards Old Pete

Irwin blue stripe
Over the many years of houses and boats and building other stuff irwin blue stripe is the best no matter what type of driver. Bit hard to find only hardware store's that supply trades will carry them...
Yeh square drive is great if you don't want to pilot drill and have plenty of power handy, But if you are pilot drilling properly there is no difference between any of them even philips which to me is below slot head.
why they keep selling phillips and not frearson in australia has got me stuffed.
there is made in china and made in china like east and west germany.
You don't have nothing to worry about till you start breaking batten screws.. .
cheers
