    Question My Stanley 45

I am having problems with the blade chattering on my Stanley 45, I think that I am using it correctly: I start at the end and end at the start, I have the skates lined up correctly but the blade still chatters. Should I take a light cut in short passes or a heaver cut in longer passed or what.

    Some advice would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Phil Spencer

Hi Phil, i have the Record 405, i found that very firm, consisten pressure in long, shallow cuts gave the best results for me. Hope that helps! Do you have any pics of yer plane? On my wish list is a mint Stanley 55. Gotta love the old "hand powered routers"!
