    Default staple/nail selection

I wish to nail/staple 19-25 mm plywood to make small boxes. I have no knowledge of these tools and need help selecting the best fasteners, before buying a gun. Thankyou Bruce

For that application I would use my DA bradder or my 18Gauge C bradder with 50mm nails for the thicker ply. If you were to buy just one gun, I would go for a DA bradder as you'll find it more versatile down the track... (trade tools direct have some good prices)

    Cheers
    Michael

*Edit* of course you will need air compressor and hose if you don't have them, and so depending on quantity, you may prefer just to hand nail if you are making limited numbers.

Personally, I prefer the 18g C brads over 15g DA. The 18g leaves a smaller hole and I find that the DA nails tend to 'curl' and come out the side if they hit a spot of hard grain.

Generally I use 18Ga C1 bradder.. has nice selection of brads...
In the arsenal I have 10mm, 15mm and 32mm lengths
I generally use them in conjuction with glue.. so brads are there pretty much just to hold the work until glue sets...

EDIT: correction in Gauge sizes..... always get confused between 16 and 18.. sorry.. my bad
