Stationary tools as a service? SE Qld
Hi, I am starting out in making acoustic guitars.
My approach is first kit, then bespoke using hand tools. Down the track, if all goes well I plan to invest in stationary tools - router table, band saw, CNC - etc.
As an intermediary step I am trying to find commercial (or community) services that provided access to good quality stationary tools.
(This is recommended as the smart beginner move by the YouTube luthier gurus)
And despite the fuss and bother of organising jobs around rented access I think it would really help inform eventual purchases of big ticket items.
I've searched but I haven't been able to find anything in my area that is geared to small-scale high-precision jobs. I am currently living in inner city Brisbane (and may be moving out to Toowoomba soon). I would consider any service in the SE corner of the state as I am retired and can easily take a day out to go get some work done.
Does anyone know of any services that provide access to stationary tools.
I am especially interested in exploring the use of CNCs (and 3d printing - but that's a different community) to create parts for some quite complex jigs for general use in guitar making. I really like to get some hands on time with a CNC before deciding what I should buy.
Thanks in advance.

One of the problems you'll run into is insurance.
Not alot of people will want you using or borrowing their tools purely due to the fact that they will be liable if you hurt your self, and its hard to sign that away.

Lets broaden the search. Are there any commercial entities that offer this kind of facility today, anywhere in the country? The only option I can think of is mens sheds, which aren't commercial and have other restrictions/membership requirements...

Finding a men's shed is probably your only option.

I haven't been down Coopers Plains way for a long time but these guys might be able to help. Might be more serious machinery than available at a Men's shed.

Could try looking at the maker community. Maybe these guys would have some of the stuff you need.
