Steve Knight planes
Have any of you folks had any experience with Steve Knight's Coffin smoothing planes and if they are available in Australia?

I have read a number of reviews and personal comments from owners who have been very happy with them. He will ship overseas but they are not retailed in Oz AFAIK.

Go on, buy one....I want to know if they are good!!
I have admired his planes for some time, not just the woodies but also the infill planes. He claims not to sell a bad plane. Why don't you put him to the test and let us know how he measures up.
I have seen a review and he compared favourably with up-market plane makers. I looked high and low and can't find it, sorry. If I do find it I will let you know.

I have a couple of Steve Knight planes. A jointer and a dovetail. I reach for the jointer almost exclusively when truing an edge. They're good solid planes and Steve is very helpful if you have problems or questions. He makes them as he gets orders, so you might have to wait 4 or 5 weeks but you won't be disappointed.
