Straight Edge Rules
I'm after recommendations for straight edge rules available in Straya, preferably metric markings (if marked).
I like Woodpeckers' offerings here, but shipping is a staggering US$100 for one rule. They're also imperial which is less than ideal.
Carbatec and timbecon have a few offerings from the likes of igaging and veritas.
Use: general flatness of machines and worksurfaces, jointer bed setup, guiderail joining etc
What do you use?

I have the Woodpeckers to 1200mm I buy them from PWS, 1 at a time. All metric and I got 1 end stop, which I move to whatever rule I am using.
I also have the Veritas straight edges from Carbatec, both the steel and the Ali versions.
If you want a "straight" edge and on a budget, try one of these from Total Tools. You have to check them for accuracy before purchase.
Yes they are all expensive and I would not like to think about buying them all in one purchase, but brought over 15 years of playing in the shed, the cost is lost in the mists of time, especially when you use the tool and it works!Pat

Toledo make some neat alloy ones, made in Japan, I’ve found them to be quite good.

I have a couple of the longest Woodpeckers straight edges and they do very well. But as you say, the exchange rate and postage kill it for them now. I got mine as one-time tools with imperial and metric markings
I got mine when the Aussie dollar was higher than the US dollar; those were the days - got all my Incra gear then too. Even postage was reasonable back then
I do not have an Igaging straight edge but all the other Igaging tools I have are of a high quality despite the reasonable prices and their shipping costs are realistic too.I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.

I have the iguage 1m straight edge and it's perfect for what I need it for. it comes out probably once a year and the rest of the time it sits in its case. I've also checked it against a couple of spirit levels and they're also within tolerance.
