Stripping acrylic paint off cane lounge
some years ago (following a request from my daughter)I spray painted an old cane lounge with an acrylic paint. She who must be obeyed now wants me to strip it back to how it was. After several attempts with various paint strippers I am not getting very far. Does anyone have any ideas?

If this is cane, ratan, or several other natural fiber materials, you're probably out of luck. You would have had to seal it well prior to painting it to get it off later. It's probably soaked into the natural fiber, and that's pretty much it.
Paint it another color or buy a replacement. Sorry

Thanks for the advise all. It was an acrylic house paint and I have used various paint strippers and although it is a slow process, I guess I can only continue to do what I am doing. If I finally get the paint off, what is the best finish I can use on the cane. I was thinking of using either an outdoor furniture oil or Rustins Danish Oil as I think it is the best on the market.
Forever looking for answers

I am very sceptical that you will ever get ALL of the stuff of.
So you realy want something that isnt going to disagree with what is left behind.
I wholey expect you will be repainting another solid colour.
I go resenee enamacrill or lustacrill.
Both water borne enamel substitute.
Both spray or brush well and look good.
