Stripping Paint off Doors
HI All,
A good friend of mine is stripping some old hardwood doors that the previous owners so carelessly painted. He did the first one by hand and was wondering if anyone has heard of a place in Sydney that he can take the doors to so he can get them dipped in a stripping compound?
Thanks in Advance
Roger
Kind Regards
Roger

There is a place in Wollongong that uses a blasting process to strip paint off wood and even blasts antiques without damage. Advanced Dry Stripping & Blasting, phone 42853909. This bloke is good, I have had work from him before with no worries.

Don't get them caustic dipped - it really stuffs them up. Mini's idea is ok if you have a real lot of them but its not that hard to DIY.
Use it as an excuse to upgrade some tools like a good belt sander (Hitachi)and a good detail sander (bosch cordless) assuming you already have a good orbital sander. Use citrus gel paint remover first and dont leave it on too long.
That way you will have some good tools at the end of the exercise as well as some nice doors probably for the same price or cheaper of sending them away.
