    Default 1/8th Bandsaw blade help

Hi, I bought a 1/8th bandsaw blade at the hands on expo and am having trouble getting it alligned on tyres.

I've used other bigger sized blades before without any issues but this new size has got me stumped. I can get it centered on the top wheel but it has a tendancy to move and eventually come off the front of the bottom wheel.

I've tried adjusting the blade tension, tried to angle the top wheel both leaning forwards and backwards yet it just doesn't want to keep itself aligned.

Not sure if this is related but I notice when blade is running that just about the roller guides the blade will flex sideways occasionally by 1-2mm. And the machine makes a higher pitch sound when cutting. It's almost like the blade is getting stuck in the wood, causing the blade to stall for that fraction of a second. But in saying that it's not like you can see the blade get stuck.

To try and elimanate the sideway flexing, I tried to tighten the blade but that only makes it track worse and comes off the bottom wheel quicker.

I've looked at the belt and it whilst it is not taut, i don't believe it is loose enough to be causing it to slip.

Maybe someone else has come across this issues and it could be a loose belt or something else I'm missing. Please help and let me know what I can do to fix this.

Signed by one very frustrated woodworker,
    Shane.

Get the guides (upper & lower) as well as the thrust bearing out of the way, then try to track the blade, it is the tracking (wheel tilt) that keep the blade in position, not the guides. (the guides are there to keeo the operator from pushing it off kilter.

With such small blades I remove the lateral guides asthey will only ruin the set. I replace them with pieces of wood. After you get the blade running smooth and true, then bring in the thrust bearings (Top & Bottom) These are set to the thickness of a Dollar bill (or what ever currency you sucribe to) then the side glides close in to the blade the same thickness. this is why I remove the guides and replace with wood.

You should have a true running saw if you follow thes steps.
