Default Style needed for a clock

I have been asked to make a clock for a presentation so I am looking for ideas of styles. Don't really go for timber slice\burl idea.

    All suggestions gratefully recieved.

I've begun making clocks as Xmas presents. Only two designs so far. One is my interpretation of the traditional carriage clock. Very simple. Basically a box with the clock mechanism mounted in the front. I choose to have 4 20mm square timber uprights (stiles??)and rout the slot for the box face centrally into these, giving a sort of pillar design. I contrast the woods used for box face and pillars respectively. You can stuff around the edges on the lid if you care to decorate more.

I also am engaged in making another modified traditional design clock. This is even simpler. Take a solid piece of timber, say 220 mm long by 120 wide and 100 deep. Stand this on its end and round over the top to semi circle. Then gouge out the hole on the face for the clock mechanism. Feet are optional. Edges may be finished in your favourite style.

If my description of carriage clock is too obtuse, Google the term for piccies.

These may sound a bit agricultural, but if you pick interesting timber and clock face designs and colours, then they do look good.

Did you poke your way through the search engine on clock in pics section or scrollers section?

Okay so I won't recommend any of them - did you try a google search image - clock?
I'm not trying to be smart but what size are you wanting?
    Wall clock - mantle clock?

Depending on how much you want to put into it I could send you the plans for this. I used a 90mm clock face from Jonatan Knowles and scaled the height and width down from the plans to suit.
There's a fair bit of work in it.

Have a few different timber species around and a mix could produce a very elegant clock

    Teejay,
Open minded about size and style.

    Termite,
Saw your clock when I did a search and liked the appearance of it.
The plans might be very handy thank you.
