Default Need suggestions for bunnings melamine blade for small project of 7 drawers

3 hour search to find melamine blade from Bunnings suggestions.
Got a bit lost in size and tooth count and tooth shapes.

The only one I could find was this that was suggested was a 6 1/4" to fit my track saw(?).

    Irwin
    95018 160mm (6¼”) 56T 7000 1" 20/19/16mm Trim/Finish 5
Irwin 160mm 56T Aluminium+ Circular Saw Blade | Bunnings Warehouse
    Bunnings I/N: 6320513
    $39.98

Will get a list of my current (dull) blades in a few hours as its too early to be rummaging around in the shop.

    Dewalt dwe745 - 10" blade - 30mm Arbour
    Thanks,

    What diameter blade do you actually need? 10”, 9 1/4”, 6 1/2”?
I bought an Irwin blade 9 1/4” to cut melamine from bunnies. I’m not going to the shed now but I believe it has the same configuration (aluminium, negative rake etc) as the one you listed except it’s 80 teeth. It does an excellent job.

Would be worth checking the many other stores such as (in Brisbane anyway) Trade Tools, Total Tools, C&L and places that specialise in sharpening/selling saw blades. Brisbane Saw service & Combined Saw and Knife are a couple of north Brisbane examples. I am sure there are plenty of others nearer you.

Just about any blade you can buy will give chip out on one side, professional panel saws have a second scribing blade on the other side. The more expensive negative raked blades only reduce the severity, they can’t eliminate it.
Other options: look at your cabinet design to see if you can hide all the chipped edges, score the melamine face with a very sharp blade, stack and clamp the pieces with a sacrificial layer that can chip, or cut everything oversize and trim to size using a router or an electric plane.
The first and last methods are my favourites, one of the advantages of using a Triton is the ability to mount an electric plane for trimming melamine coated particle board to size.
Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

10" Melamine from Bunnings for a quick purchase quick start.
And hopefully an inexpensive for a one off get-er-dun! projects.
So could be the 6 1/2" based on price and 30mm arbor.

Still have to finish my coffee and check the shed for already sharp melamine blades.
    Thanks,

Was sure I had another 10" blade but didn't.
Time to add another to my collection.

    This is the 250mm version of what I have: CMT Melamine & Chipboard CMT Melamine & Chipboard Blade - 250mm x 80 Teeth Blade - 250mm X 80 Teeth | Laminate Cutting - Carbatec

This is a triple-chip grind tooth pattern which is the best pattern for melamine and other laminated boards without a scribing saw. CMT are not the only makers of this tooth type saw blade. Leitz, Freud and all the other major manufacturers have them.

Create a new zero clearance insert for your saw. Double check that the fence is either dead parallel to the fence, or a .002" over its length away from the blade. I also recommend keeping the blade low. Keep it so the tooth is clear of the top of the material plus a little bit. Don't keep it so low that it feels like the saw is throwing the workpiece back at you.

Unless there is serious runout on the saw arbor (which I doubt); you should get near perfect cuts with that setup.

For a small project, you may feel this it is too much money to invest in a special blade. This is pretty much the blade that stays in my saw unless I am going to do a session of hardwood timber ripping or there is some superfine exposed end grain.

I could feel the feed rate slowing over the last couple of 18mm ply rips for the daughters bed.
So had to take the 100t Bosch into Ace Saw Service to get it sharpened.
    Always excellent service.

I purchased the $96 one from them.

I was right there. It was right there
They mentioned it was for industrial use.
Fitted an arbor ring for me.

As you mentioned, may be a better long term investment than a Bunnings one.
    We'll see.

I was sure I had another sharpened 10" melamine blade for this situation.
Oh well, next time I will.

    I don't know mates.

I use a 40 tooth COMBINATION blade for everything. It is 40 teeth in 8 groups of a raker and 4 ATB teeth. It is in a 10 inch Unisaw.

These blades are branded Anderson Saw, on Daphne in LA. I probably could get away with shipping one (As a birthday present to my BIL.) LOL! I haven't bought one in over 10 years so I don't know the exact cost. Just let me know.

I used the blade to cut ¾ Melamine recently and no significant chips. However if you are going to edge the Melamine then I would say no.
