Default Is this sus or what???

I bought a cordless DeWalt circular saw, battery and charger on eBay.
Was supposed to be brand new but, when it arrived nothing was in the original packaging and no manual either.
When I contacted the seller the reply was that "The Supplier" does not provide manuals or original packaging"
I advised them that I wanted a manual and that it sounded strange that it was "Supplied" like this. Guess what, they suddenly found a manual for me and are shipping it tomorrow.
This is not the only DeWalt tools they sell.
Have I unwittingly bought stolen goods?

Many of these sellers buy 18 volt sets from the US and then break them up into components to resell at they can then make more on them. If this is the case then there would be no packaging as the sets usually come in a duffle type bag. I have never bought a set so don't know whether they come with individual manuals for each item, if not, that may be why they don't supply manuals.

I've bought stuff before like that both on eBay and "real" auctions. At the real auctions you could get stuff that had damaged packaging (water, rodents, drop damage) so perhaps the eBay seller is buying from real auctions and stripping off the damaged packaging?
With examples from eBay I also discovered they dumped excess stuff (like manuals, I suppose) to save on postage.
Thank God for senility... now I don't feel so silly any more.

seeing they charged me $35 to ship from Melbourne to Queensland, I doubt the saving in postage was the reason
I still think I was sold a puppy.

Yeah, but did it cost them $35? Also it might have been higher with the manual and therefore less competitive on eBay.

Another thing to watch out for is HONG KONG postage prices. My Daughter, The Princess, bought something, it had $AU15 postage cost. The item arrived with $15HK stamps on it so we thought all was good. Then we realised that $15HK was about $3 AUS. Bloody thieves!
