Default Table Saw Blade - Flai u Blade

    Hi

After searching the web and these forums and STU's shed for blade reviews and advice etc I decided on the FLAI U blade.

Picked up a 12" one this afternoon.

Gives a great finish however it seems to be burning the wood alot, something which I have not experienced before.

My fence is straight etc. The kerf on the blade is about 3mm, I have also never used a think kerf blade before.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Hi Arry,

I was reading a bit on router blades earlier, bit different i know, but the article said there's usually two causes for burnt wood,

    1. A blunt bit (makes sence right, the bit tears the wood out and generates heat faster than a sharp bit cutting normally would so burns the wood as it goes).

Or 2. Passing speed too low for the material being cut (again makes sence, the longer the bit at high speed travels slower through the wood the more able it is to transfer that heat into the wood, burning it).

Both make sence, if your blade is new then i doubt the blade is blunt. Thats my thought on it but i'm no tablesaw blade or wood expert, i'd get another opinion.

    Neal.

I agree try passing timber through a bit faster and see how you go
