under saw table spacers
I filled the matrix under my saw table with glued on shapes of wood so I would have a way to use clamps on the table. I have tried all kinds of different glues to hold these odd shaped pieces of wood. some pieces remain in place others keep falling off. Any ideas?

Magnets
Rare earth magnets epoxied into wooden blocks work for me. I made up triangular pieces to go under my drill press table so that I could put a clamp more or less anywhere on the table. No failures so far.
I also tried double sided tape which eventually failed.
I would expect contact cement to be a workable solution, maybe even construction adhesive.
What type of glue have you been using?
A bit of experimenting should see you back in to having fun in the workshop.

A polyurethane adhesive like this should do the trick. It sticks to just about anything but remains flexible. It's amazing stuff.

Okay, I tried the white version of liquid nails, whatever that is, and it was a bust.

Exactly which product did you try? "Whatever that is" doesn't give us much to go on.
