Lightbulb Taking out the slack in a mitre gauge slide.

I recently purchased an Ozito table saw which certainly does the job for a hobbyist.
I found the saw angles accurate and the fencing guides spot on. However the mitre gauge slide was quite slack as you my find in a cheap saw. So this is how I solved the problem.
I drilled a hole thru the sides of the slide. One at the front and one at the rear and threaded a length of thick wipper snipper cord thru the holes. You can cut them off almost flush. The small protrusion will take up the slack in the slide.

    Good old Aussie "can-do" attitude.
It usually only takes a little thought and volla, accuracy retained
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod

Gone are the days of the good old #8 fencing wire.

A common cure for the slack mitre guage is to centre punch just back from the edge evenly on each side.

    cheers
Any thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
    Most powertools have sharp teeth.
    People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.
