Taunton Fine Woodworking for USD$5
My Australian Woodsmith subscription is about to run out and I'm tempted to replace it with the Tauton Finewoodworking.
Has anyone seen this? Is my maths right?
Are people happy with the magazine? I find thier site quite helpful but I've never forked out the $23 for the magazine.

Yes you are right Bozinoz, it works out very cheap via 3 year subscription, and that is what we ended up doing.

I'm thinking of getting the electronic edition after a succession of delayed & damaged issues - partly Taunton's fault for picking a poor mail distributor and partly the Post Office for lack of care.
There seems to be a more than a bit of discrimination going on with all imported woodworking mags at the moment - if you have a Borders withing a few suburbs it seems the newsagents are no longer being supplied with surface mail copies of any import mags - you either pay $20+ at Borders for 'Air' or miss out entirely. The Sydney CBD newsagents I have checked, as well as Parramatta & Chatswood, only have the 3 nominally Australian mags - which is likely to be a decision by Gordon & Gotch if you can get FWW elsewhere.

I have the three-year subscription and also the online subscription. Happy with both. Delivery time can vary at times, but I've never had any real complaints.

I subscribed about a year ago. Including shipping and with the exchange rate at the time it worked at at well under AUD $7 per issue delivered. Makes a lot more sense than paying $15-$17 at the newsagent. You also get a discount on the online subscription (I have that too!) if you are a magazine subscriber...
Very happy with the quality of the magazine. I think this is the pick of the US magazines, and is at least as good as any of our Aussie ones (although I also subscribe to AWR because I like it).Bob C.
Never give up.

One thing I just found out from a podcast by "The Wood Whisperer" is, with the online
subscription, which I have, you get access to all past editions not just the current issues.
This is great if you want to research some back issues.
Also, "Popular Woodworking" has a bargain.
All last 7 years issues on a DVD for around $60-70. Now that's value ( means I can tidy up my study)

Yep, FWW online for $5 a month, and cheaper for a year. Good stuff for a good price.

And I just signed up for 2 years of AWR... hmmm... mag's everywhere.
I've let australian woodsmith expire... sad. Oh well.
I think AWR and T FWW are the pick.
