Testing for 45 degree angle
Hi. I'm wondering how people go about testing for 45 degree angles - in the search for the perfect mitre - picture framing etc. I normally do it by cutting two pieces and then holding them together against the inside of a 90deg square. This works very well - if you have three hands. I dont, so it never leaves me feeling confident.
Is there a better way ?
cheers

Masking tape can be your third hand.
With 7 "third hands," assemble 8 pieces and check for a final gap or interference. The error in each is 1/8 of the total.

You could get a 45 degree square. I have a starrett square that has one on it.
Lie-Nielsen Toolworks Australia | Combination Squares
Or a Colen Clenton 45 degree marker - COLEN CLENTON 45 DEGREE MARKERS
Or you could try these mitre/framing squares.
