Thickness Planer
Hello, been afew years out of action from the site
Just have a quick question for the people in the know. I think im after a benchtop thickness planer, i have gathered lituraly tones of wood over the years (mostly recycled) and am looking at just cleaning it up a little quicker than my old method of passing it through a jointer then fixing it up with a hand plane
Im looking at spending $500 at most, so if anyone could point me in the right direction for brands, things to consider or even advice on using my jointer to do it, it would be greatly appreciated

Hi Zoinker,
I bought a Ryobi thicknesser a couple of years ago and I'm very happy with it. I'm only a weekend amateur but I have fed a fair bit of hardwood through the thing and it hasn't let me down at all. Fits the price range too.
Just make sure you have some earmuffs, it makes a real racketThe time we enjoy wasting is not wasted time.
