thicknesser to dum sander
Hi guys/gals
has any one converted a cheap thicknesser to a drum sander
If so how hard was it to do was looking at getting a decent thicknesser U converting my Ryobi unit to a drum sander
Any suggestions how to do it

I've been pondering gutting my cruddy GMC thicky for at least the motor, feed rollers and height adjusters to do something like this too, so I'll be interested to see what sort of answers you get.
Without really investigating it, I just assumed that the motor would be spinning too fast and might require more cost and effort than it's worth to slow it down.Every time you make a typo, the errorists win.

You would have to control the feed speed, the drum would surely just try and shoot to through but the unsanded part would be thicker than the lead edge and would jam under the drum as it tried to go through
