I'm with you now. I prefer the bed/infeed and outfeed move while the motor is stationary. But that is just me.

I much prefer the fixed bed style thicknesser as I can then have a fixed input and output tables, especially handy for long lengths.
I then raise or lower the head part to suit.
Have used the ones where you raise and lower the table and it was frustrating having to muck around with the extension tables all the time.Jim Carroll

All good points, and I agree, it is a pain with a moving bed. The only downside is that the market for the fixed bed style thicknessers is a bit limited I think.
So comes down to personal choices, and deciding what is more important to the way you want to work. Sometimes, somethings are just never perfect. Personally I like the thicknessers where somebody else does the work,
Keep us posted Bellyup.

I have got a carbatec 6 inch jointer and a carbatec 12 inch thicknesser. Both have had plenty of work over many years and for what I do which is mostly mucking about in the shed on weekends and holidays they have been great. Kitchens and bathrooms and house renovations have all passed over the cutters on these two machines.
My age is still less than my number of posts
