Which Thicknesser/Planer
I am on the hunt for a thicknesser for my basic woodworking.
I've looked at the Trade Tools 12 1/2" Geetech Model CT340, 2hp, 8000rpm, 3mm cut depth including stand and dust hood at $698 .
Other than that I can't make up my mind between a Carb-a-tec CTJ340 for $499 (Stand is extra $99) or a Delta for $799 - both are 2.2hp, 317mm x 152mm(both these machines the stand is extra $99) The Carb-a-tec is a copy of the Delta, but the Delta is a more sturdy machine with a 2 yr warranty, or so I'm told. But is it $300 more sturdy???
Has anyone got any hints and tips on buying a thicknesser - or can recommend another brand/model for reasonable home use.
A previous thread by me changed my ideas on the purchase of a disk/belt sander thanks to recommendations from Wayne Davey, Dean and Rowan, so am looking for a bit of expert guidance on this one too.
Thanks in anticipation

I love my Rigid 13". No snipe whatsoever and it has tons of power. If they're available in your hemisphere, I'd recommend you take a look at it.
