    Hi Nat

    that's some serious slabs you have there -- at 800mm wide I think there may only be one or two places that can handle it.

    The fellas that surface 2 of my (850 mm wide) slabs a few years back had a 1m thicknesser. The slab started out at about 50 mm thick and ended up taking 12 mm off to get it to where they wanted it. That thing was quite impressive to watch and made sawdust like there was no tomorrow.

    If you're wishing to do it on the cheap, you may have to flatten your slabs by hand.

    Sadly that thicknesser is no longer available. The place where this happened is now another sardine can suburb. I often wonder what happened to that thicknesser.

    Give raw edge furniture in oconnor a buzz. They have a surfacer and and big drum sander.

    Thors Hammer has 3 MONSTER machines.

    Thors Hammer :: Dressing

    A HUMONGOUS bandsaw, a "jointer" from the nightmares of Stephen King and a sander that can do 1300mm.

    Also, Monaro Timber has something similar: Services

    Try the Perth Wood School. Even so you will have to accept narrower boards. They have a 12" wide jointer and 15" thicknesser.

    Otherwise a sharp Stanley #7 (just kidding )
