Thinking inside the square
I don't know what this is called either but I agree that every shop should have one.

I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

I'm sure some know it all will be along sooner or later to tell us what it's called and if I've managed to find time to make it before then it will be a miracle.

Our very own Niki showed us this last year.
He is, after all, the jig-meister.

I have made two. With the first, I kept havign to go back to the video to remind myself what the consequence of each of them being loose was. Also my pivot got a bit worn which makes it inaccurate.
So mark II was made from some spare 12mm aluminium strip lying about and marked (punched) on the short arm "Acute" and the long arm "Obtuse" to remind me what it all meant.Cheers

Looks like we'll have to reserve the name 'Miracle' for something else.
Still it's good to see that the forum hasn't let us down."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

*Sigh!* Ah well, I'll make one and enjoy it no matter what it's name or origins.

great idea .
i have always used the 3 , 4 . 5 , method its good because it can be used in any size.
it can be inches, yards, mills or meters or miles if ya like or any multiple of , you can even go 30 meters by 40 meters then the diagonal should be 50 meters good for checking square in big things like cement slab or even a paddock
