thread boxes ?
Hi everyone (who is reading this)
I'm not sure if this is the right place...
(sounds like a rugby player dazed, confused, pant less and lost in a hotel corridor but...)
I am wanting to make some timber threads because they look like useful items and I can't seam to find a reference on the forum via the search.
Probably me doing something wrong, but the word "thread" seems to bring up every thread posted.
If someone, dare I say it, could tell me where to go it would be appreciated.
(remember to play nice)
Cheers,
Rob.Bare foot and still able to count to ten.

There are a few other threads that have popped up from time to time, but this might help you to kick off.

Thanks Soth and Ian.
The link Ian listed was a fantastic resource which linked to several other threads (posts).
I think I found more info than my head can absorb.
I have decided that my double garage workshop, which houses our cars will need to be revamped if it is to effectively serve as a furniture workshop.
This will involve building an appropriate carpentry bench with all the vises as would be expected.
I have a decent bench at the moment, but It is more a general type bench with only an engineers vise. It has served me well to date but is part of the "design" layout problem.
I really like the idea of authentic timber threaded vises and I'm the type to make it if I can rather than buy it.
In addition, you can never have enough clamps so I think a few timber threaded clamps will be a good place to start with for practice.
It will be good practice on the cheap little lathe as well.
Thanks guys for your help.
I will workout the search feature eventually.Bare foot and still able to count to ten.
