    Default What timber is this,.??

    Hi all timber experts,

I've used some timber on a certain project and wanted to identify it please. I am of the opinion it is tasmanian myrtle, but I just have a few niggling doubts.

I hope this photo is ok to view,

    Regards, Paul

Tas. myrtle is usually a bit more pink than that. Not sure of an alternative, though.

    Thanks Gentlemen,

Yes the photos don't really show it up that good. If your interested the project that I used it on is in the "instrument"section, you'll see it, "about to start making my first guitar. I couldn't copy the link here for some reason. Go to the very last page (page 3), last post.

    Thanks

    Paul

    Hi Paul.

In my experience Tassie Myrtle burnishes really easily. Particularly with scrapers. Does that help?
