    Default Timber Advice Needed

    Hi all,

    I'm looking for a reasonable affordable/ well stocked hardwood, with good strength characteristics (perpendicular to the grain under torsion?) but not too heavy, for use as a Murphy Bed frame.

    I previously posted another thread here, but as it didn't have many views i thought i would give it a try here.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Default Timber Advice Needed

    Tassie oak would be a good choice. Every timber place will stock it, even bunnings.
